Save America Now! Campaign
Prayer Targets for Friday, June 4, 2004
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
(2 Chronicles 7:14)
- Pray for the New Virginia law to be passed.
The new law is an amendment to the state's 1997 Affirmation of Marriage Act,
which prohibits gay marriages. The amendment extends that ban to civil unions,
partnership contracts and other "arrangements between persons of the
same sex purporting to bestow the privileges or obligations of marriage."
Virginia
Attorney General Jerry Kilgore, nominee for governor next year, has said
he believes the law will pass constitutional muster.
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name
Adam, in the day when they were created (Genesis 5:2).
- Pray that the
Constitution Restoration Act will become law.
This bill would request that judges would no longer be involved in cases that
involve the Ten Commandments, school prayer or the Pledge of Allegiance, anything
that acknowledges the sovereignty of God in America. This bill is on hold in
the House Judiciary Committee. Pray that those that are reviewing it would
move it quickly, before the November 2004 election, into the House and Senate
to be voted on.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath
chosen for his own inheritance (Psalm 33:12)
- Please pray for the challenges
that now face Partial-Birth Abortion law.
U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton
ruled the law unconstitutional on June 1ST 2004. This ruling will pave the
way for the U.S. Supreme Court,
where it's
expected the constitutionality of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act will
ultimately be decided.
This legislation would require those who perform abortions
on children 20 weeks or later after fertilization to inform the woman seeking
the abortion
of the medical evidence that the unborn child feels pain.
Pray that the court ultimately will conclude that the ban on partial-birth
abortion is constitutional, and that the life of the baby will be protected.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When
I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed
body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of
them came to be. (Psalm 139:15-16)
- Pray for wisdom, strength, courage and spiritual victory for President
Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. Pray that they will always be mindful
that
they are serving God and not man.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not
with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance:
for ye serve the Lord Christ (Colossians 3:22-24).
- Pray for the Passage
of the Federal Marriage Amendment Act, House Joint Resolution 56.
Only 118 members of congress and 14 senators have signed on as co-sponsors
of this amendment. Our leaders need to hear our voices- So call or write your
U.S. Representative or U.S. Senator local office. It is estimated that 4 million
Christians did not vote in the 2000 elections.
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days
come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure
in them;
While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor
the clouds return after the rain (Ecclesiastes 12:1-2).
- Army Private First
Class Keith M. Maupin, known as Matt, was shown on video footage surrounded
by five masked men holding automatic rifles. He was captured
April 9. Maupin and Sergeant Elmer C. Krause, 40, were listed as missing after
their convoy was attacked April 9 outside Baghdad.
Pray for the safe release of Private First Class Maupin and Sergeant Krause,
as well as all other kidnap victims in Iraq. God is able to keep and protect
them, and to set them free.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall proper; and every tongue
that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the
heritage of the
servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord (Isaiah
54:17).
- Pray for all parents as they face drastic changes in this nation.
Pray that the Lord would grant them wisdom and strength to guide their children
according
to God’s word.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him (James 1:5).
- Pray that our Governors, Senators, Congress, House of Representatives,
and Supreme Court Judges will walk in the ways of the Lord.
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are
in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness
and honesty (1Timothy 2:1-2).
- Pray for the appointment of 2 new Godly Supreme Court Justices prior to
the November elections.
The appointment of Supreme Court Justices will be godly men or women and set
the tone for all of the challenges to our Christian Nation.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians
6:18).
- Pray for the spirit of decency and modesty to return to our nation, that
the forces that shape and influence our children, youth and adults will forsake
lewd and immodest behavior.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness,
and honour (Proverbs 21:21)
- Pray for our troops as they continue to serve
rebuilding and protecting Iraq. Pray also for all American troops around
the world, that God will guard
and guide them with His protection and care.
A thousand shall fall
at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh
thee (Psalm 91:7).
- Pray for the Unborn Victims of Violence bill that was signed by President
Bush.
This bill is vigorously opposed by pro-abortion advocacy groups,
which say that the bill would conflict with the U. S. Supreme Court rulings
legalizing
abortions. "Under this law, those who direct violence toward a pregnant
woman will answer for the full extent of the harm they have done, and for all
the crimes they have committed,” the President said.
For the weapons of
our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity
every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
- Please
continue to pray that the phrase “under God” in the
Pledge of Allegiance will remain. The decision will be rendered in June 2004.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall
strengthen
thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:13-14).
- Pray for those
denominations that are rendering decisions about homosexuals in positions of
ministry.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may
be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it
(John 14:13-14).
- Pray for the California Supreme Court will uphold the Y2000 law that
marriage is a union between a man and a woman.
The California Supreme
Court halted San Francisco’s gay marriages in
March.
That leaves the question of what to do about the gay and lesbian marriages already performed at City Hall. Pray the justices do not remain silent on this
issue.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she
shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. (Genesis 2:23).
